Potty training is like a big wedgie, frustrating but a part of life.

i will praise You

Filed under: personal — April Nienhuis @ 12:00 pm
Dear God

In this midst of chaos, I thank You for all the many blessings You have given. I was blinded by my ugly, self absorbed attitude but I see them now. It may be storming but I choose to now put my focus on You.

Amen

“and I’ll praise You in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm”

i retract my statement

I once told Andrea that I didn’t care for textures. Well, I recently won $50 to spend on Michelle Black’s resources and decided to get the textures and see what I could come up with. I think I’m falling in love with them.

get your twitter on

Filed under: personal — April Nienhuis @ 4:37 pm
Do you twitter? Since I feel the need to sign up for everything I started twittering a few weeks ago. It’s pretty much like updating your status on facebook or myspace. I’ve got mine set up so that I can send a message through gmail chat and it will update both my facebook and twitter. Also, I hope to soon have a twitter box on my blog. If you have a twitter I would love to follow you and if not then feel free to sign up, it’s loads of fun!

the hideout and 365

Filed under: personal, photography — April Nienhuis @ 2:54 pm
I’ve mentioned The Hideout before, it’s that super cool forum with all the wonderfully fab people. Not only is there a diverse level of skill, knowledge and style, everyone is super nice. If you’ve ever searched for a community of photographers that are actually passionate about their art then The Hideout is the place for you.

Speaking of The Hideout, there are several photographers over there doing the 365 project. The 365 project is where you take one photograph a day for an entire year. I’ve given it a shot before and failed but I’m having another stab at it. All my 365 photographs will be contributed to The Hideout 365 Project blog if you’re interested in following along.
